It does not Michael. The Valterra Threaded RV Sink Drain w/ Basket Strainer item # A01-2011VP has a built in gasket that provides the seal.
Fixtures like these with a built in gasket have become more common in RVs recently. Using putty in addition to the gasket has been causing leaks. For extra leak protection, you can run a bead of 100% Silicone Sealant like item # SI55FR under the flange.
Were your old drains leaking or did you upgrade sinks? What has you putting in new drains?
