What Is the Anderson Plug Used for on the Velit 2000R Mini AC?

I noticed an Anderson plug in the pictures. Where does that fit into the installation?

Thanks for writing in.

The Anderson plug shown in the photos is the DC power connector for the Velit 2000R Mini AC # VE49QV. It provides a quick disconnect between the air conditioner and your 12 volt power system, making it easier to connect or disconnect the unit for installation or service. The installation manual shows the unit being wired to your battery system with 6 AWG cable, with the Anderson connector serving as the connection point in that power circuit.

During installation, you'll route the power cable to the roof opening, connect the wiring to the Anderson connector, and then plug the connector into its mating half on the air conditioner. It isn't an optional accessory or an external power input. It's simply part of the unit's DC power connection.

@MattW The tech at Velit is fast! I couldn't find that information so I had to reach out, this was his response: for the 12V2000MW Velit 2000R Mini, the stock harness uses a 15 ft wiring harness with an Anderson connector and 6 AWG wire on the 12V model. The unit’s power draw is approximately 30A on low and 50A on high, and it can run around 40–60A on the highest setting, depending on ambient temperature and usage. On startup and surge power you could see 80+ amps drawn. It runs a 100amp fuse. If you need anything else, ask away =)
