Question:

Looking to verify correct airbags, looked at Firestone F2597 I have a 2015 Ford F250 super duty crew with 8’ box. The big question is I do have Ford factory puck system for 5th wheel hitch with gooseneck too! Please advise the system that will bolt in Thanks Larry Morden

Hello Larry,

Thanks for writing in!

I am happy to confirm that the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2597 you were looking at are going to be a great fit for your 2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty with the 8' bed. The Ford factory puck system will not be in the way of where the air bags install. I attached an image so you can see exactly where they'll mount.

These are a great option if you're looking to improve ride quality while towing or hauling. They help reduce rear-end sag, improve stability, and keep your truck riding more level under load. Installation is straightforward since the brackets are designed specifically for your F-250 and use existing mounting locations, so there isn't any drilling required on most applications.

If you'd like the convenience of adjusting the air pressure without having to stop and use an air compressor, I'd recommend going with the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Bags with Easy Mount Compressor # F39XV instead. It includes the same air springs along with a wireless onboard compressor, so you can make adjustments right from your phone or the included remote. It's a really nice upgrade if you regularly tow different trailers or carry varying loads.

I know you have the puck system, so what kind of camper are you hauling that you need the extra support? Any big trips this summer you are getting geared up for?

Larry, I have a F350 Dually with the extreme towing package that I used the Firestone air bag system with the remote control and phone app system for inflation. The system works great and has stopped my truck from "bottoming out" on the last overload/bumper stops. The only problem I had in installation was due to the heavy duty rear axle mount on the passenger side. I don't think you would have this problem. I did mount by compressor in the bed of my truck with the extra shrader valve so I could aid the system up if I had a problem. Hope this helps and everything goes well. Denny W
