How Flat Is Underside of Romik RPD Hitch Step

Question:
Hi - Im interested in the Romik RPD Hitch Step Part No. RMK32ZV. Im looking to use it on the back of my camper van, but Id like to mount a 6x6 pvc fence post sleeve under the step to hold sewer hose. Is it possible to get a photo of the underside of the step to see how flat it is and how far the 2 hitch runs under the step? Thx. Matt

Hi Matthew; the Romik RPD Hitch Step for 2" Hitches # RMK32ZV isn't very flat underneath, see the attached photo. There is a bracket with bolts and the shank runs across to the back edge of the step. You could probably find a way to make it work, maybe with some square U-bolts and brackets, but you'll have to get creative.
What kind of camper van do you have?

Thank you Robin. That is very helpful. It's an Entegra Ethos (Promaster 3500). I thnk I'm going to have to get creative no matter what. There's not a lot of spare room. My thought was to mount a 5x5 or 6x6 vinyl fence post sleeve to the bottom of a hitch step and then have the hitch step in a 90 degree rotating hitch so it can fold up while driving.
