Question:

I have a 2022 Thor Sequence camper van and I’m replacing the original rooftop AC with one of the new Advent Air systems. I saw there’s a remote available. Can I use that remote with the non-ducted kit, or does it only work with the thermostat setup?

Hi Rachel! The Advent Air remote, part # ADV67QR, can only be used with the smart wall thermostat that comes with the ducted Advent Air kits, like the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - 13,500 Btu - Ducted - Black # ADV59QR or the 15,500 Btu ducted kit # ADV69QR. It is not compatible with the non-ducted Advent Air kits, like # ADV27QR or # ADV49QR, since those use the controls built into the air distribution box instead of the smart wall thermostat.

Since your 2022 Thor Sequence is a camper van, I’d expect it to have a non-ducted setup where the AC blows directly from the ceiling assembly rather than through ductwork. If that’s how yours is set up, I’d look at one of the non-ducted Advent Air kits and skip the remote.

If your Sequence does happen to have a wall thermostat controlling the AC, then the ducted kit with the smart thermostat would be the style that works with the remote.
