Question:

I have a BandW companion sliding fifth wheel hitch in my 2019 Ram 2500 . I’m considering trading for a 2026 Ram 2500 with pucks. What do you recommend I do about my fifth wheel hitch?

Welcome back Roger!

To be perfectly honest, you could just use it. The Companion that fits your current 2019 Ram 2500 will actually fit the 2026 Ram 2500 as well. Ram hasn't changed their puck layout since they introduced them in 2014, so it does make that a lot easier.

That said, if the 2026 has a long bed and you no longer need the slider, you would want to get something like the B&W Companion 25,000 lbs # BWRVK3600, but you could still use the slider in a long bed application as well. It just won't have as much capacity.

Now if your 2019 is using the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck to attach the Companion, you would need to swap the base out for one that fits the pucks. For that, you will need the # BWRVB3670. The head would just need to be removed from the current set up and plopped onto this guy and you are good to go!
