Recommendations to Replace a Dometic DM2852RBX Refrigerator

Question:

Hello. I currently have a dometic refrigerator in my travel trailer that is model number: DM2852RBX. It has been malfunctioning, and I am going to replace it with a new unit that you have available. The opening is 24 inches wide by 60 inches tall. I’m contemplating just getting a fully electric one to save cost. A 12v fridge that also can be 120v when plugged into shore power would be ideal. Please let me know what options you have.

Thanks for providing the dimensions and your current refrigerator model.

Based on the 24" wide x 60" tall opening, I recommend the Furrion RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer # FR95TF. At 23-3/8" wide x 59-5/8" tall, it is really close to your existing Dometic DM2852RBX and should fit your current opening with minimal modification.

Since you're considering moving away from a absorption refrigerator, a 12V compressor like the Furrion is an excellent option. Compressor refrigerators cool faster, maintain more consistent temperatures and generally perform much better in hot weather than traditional absorption units.

Although the # FR95TF is a 12V refrigerator, it will operate normally when you're connected to 120V shore power. Your RV's converter will convert the incoming 120V AC power to 12V DC power for the refrigerator while also keeping your batteries charged, so you get the convenience of shore power without needing a separate 120V refrigerator.

One thing to note is that the Furrion is slightly deeper than your current Dometic, so I recommend verifying that you have enough space available behind and in front of the refrigerator before ordering.
