Question:
Hi - I have a 2013 Mercedes E350 Wagon with what looks like Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4 Part Number: C11001 Without the wire harness. Can I upgrade this to tow a 20ft boat weighing 2800 lbs – probably 3500 with the trailer for very short hauls by using this adapter plus a trailer wiring: etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2 Ball - 1-1/4 Hitch - 3-7/8 Rise - 3,500 lbs

Unfortunately, you can not Mark but I have a solution. The Curt Hitch item # C11001 or any other 1-1/4" hitch is only going to have a 2,000 lbs capacity. Adding a ball mount rated for a higher weight isn't going to work. You have to go off of whatever the lowest rated component is and in this case it's your hitch.
To tow a boat trailer 2,800 lbs - 3,500 lbs with your 2013 Mercedes E350 Wagon, I recommend the Stealth Hitches Hidden Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit item # SH65QR. This custom fit hitch includes everything you need to tow your boat trailer, even a wiring harness.
The Stealth Hitches item # SH65QR has a 3,500 lbs capacity for towing, which is the highest rated hitch for your 2013 Mercedes E350 Wagon. The ball mount accessory is detachable and has a 2" hitch ball. The 4-way wiring harness will splice directly into your Mercedes tail light wiring. It'll control your trailer's lighting functions.
What kind of connector does your boat trailer have for the lights? Is it a 4-way, 5-way, or 7-way?
