Question:
I already have a Demco Stay-IN-Play brake system and wiring on my towed car, but my old tow bar is worn out. I have Roadmaster base plates. Would one of these Ultra-Fab tow bars work as a replacement?

Hi Gary! Yes, if your towed vehicle already has Roadmaster base plates, one of the Ultra-Fab tow bars for Roadmaster base plates would be the right place to start. The Ultra-Fab # UF35XR is rated for 8,000 lbs, and # UF45XR is rated for 12,000 lbs.
Since you already have the braking system and tow bar wiring handled, the main things to confirm are your base plate style, your vehicle weight, and your motorhome hitch rating. If your Roadmaster base plates are direct-connect style, the tow bar can connect to the removable base plate arms. If you have crossbar-style Roadmaster base plates, you’ll need the quick-disconnect crossbar assembly # 910021-00 along with one of the tow bars mentioned above.
For most lighter vehicles, # UF35XR will be plenty, but if you’re towing a heavier truck or SUV, I’d look at # UF45XR for the added capacity. What vehicle are you towing, Gary?
