Question:

I want to replace my complete manual awning assembly with a powered assembly and Im getting confused on what parts I need. The arms have some dings in them and retracting the assembly for travel can be tricky. I often have to climb on the roof to get the arms in their correct position and Im 71. So I need to replace everything. My current awning is 17foot wide center of arm to center of arm. Im interested in the following item I think but dont know what else I need. Hey Patricia, welcome back! The Solera 3000XL Series RV Awning item # SO98QR comes with a heavy-duty roller tube, pre-attached awning fabric, and a weather guard. You'll also need the Support Arms for Solera 12V XL Power RV Awnings item # LC362243 in black or item # LC362241 in white. These include the XL rated arms, electrical components, and screws.

Depending on what kind of awning you already have you may not need two of the Solera Awning Rail Extrusion item # LC715217 in black or item # LC715216 in white. These 8' long rails hold the awning fabric to the side of your RV but you may be able to reuse the ones currently installed.

The Solera 3000XL Awning item # SO98QR is 17' wide overall. It has a 16.1' wide fabric and the awning will extend out 9-1/2' from the side of your Winnebago. There is one measurement I highly recommend you taking. The arms with this awning are 78" tall. You'll want to make sure you have that much clearance available from the top of your RV where they'll mount to the bottom.

One nice accessory you can add to the Solera 3000XL Awning item # SO98QR is the LED Light Kit w/ Switch for Solera RV Awnings with Prepflex Fabric item # LC674283. The awning has a built in track designed specifically for a lighting kit. I attached a picture below so you can see how much this light brightens up your camping spot.
