Question:
I’m putting together a small emergency trailer kit with spare fuses, a coupler pin, and basic hardware. Would it make sense to keep both sizes of these RV Designer safety pins in there? throwing stuff in a bag under back seat of truck.

Hey Calvin! I actually like that idea a lot. These are the kind of little parts that can stop a trip over something silly, especially if a coupler pin, ramp tray pin, or gate retainer pin gets lost at the worst time.
For a basic trailer spare part kit, the RV Designer Safety Lock Pin # RD72GR is the more compact option with a 1/4" diameter and 2-1/2" usable length. The RV Designer Safety Lock Pin # RD22GR uses the same 1/4" diameter but gives you a longer 3-1/2" usable length for wider latch areas, ramp trays, or brackets. I'd grab the bigger one since it will work for more applications, as long as you can fit it in your bag without taking up too much space.
I’d toss them in a small bag with a light tester, extra fuses, and maybe a couple zip ties. Calvin, are you building that kit for one trailer, or do you tow a few different ones? And do you need help with the other parts you mentioned?
