Picking Out Replacement RV Microwave

Question:
I have an Airstream 2012 Flying Cloud and need a Microwave/convection oven to replace my Sharp Carousel R820BK. It is built-in with a cut out that is big enough to accommodate the Furrion FR77AD 20-1/2inch wide, 13-3/8inch high, and 17-3/4inch deep requirement mentioned in another question reply. Is there any other consideration that I need to verify before ordering?

Hey Laura, as long as the sizes match like you've noted that they do the Furrion # FR77AD would fit and work great in place of what you have now! With RV microwaves like this there really isn't more to it than that. How did you like the Sharp?

I did order the FR77AD with the trim kit as a replacement for my Sharp Carousel R820BK. One thing this is sorely missing from the information and expert reply was the MAXIMUM cutout size that the trim kit would work with. What should have taken 30 minutes to swap it out took days, as our cutout height was bigger than the trim piece would cover (our old unit's trim piece covered about 2" more in height). We ended up having to fabricate trim pieces to cover the additional part of the opening. When I asked if there was anything else I needed to consider before ordering, that should have been on the list. Providing BOTH the MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM cutout size that is required to accommodate a unit and trim kit is a huge opportunity for improvement. That being said, etrailer staff did do an excellent job of after sales follow-up on the status of my order, links to information, and response to my emails.

The buttons on the Sharp were a little glitchy at times, but other than that it was good - nice size and functionality. The microwave started sparking our last trip so obviously time to replace!
