Can this unit be used in an enclosed cargo trailer with the thinner ceiling thickness?

The roof thickness that the Advent Air AC units like the part # ACM150CH requires is between 2-1/2 inch to 5 inch. If you wanted to install it on a thinner roof you'd have to frame up the additional space needed with wooden boards.
