Hello Chris,
No, adding the Lippert high pressure switch # LC142927 will not cause your hydraulic jacks to leak down while driving.
That switch doesn’t control whether the jacks hold pressure. Its job is simply to monitor the hydraulic pressure in the system and tell the pump when to shut off once the correct pressure is reached. It doesn’t open or close anything that would allow fluid to escape, so it won’t create a leak-down condition.
If your jacks are not always holding the RV up, that’s usually caused by internal leakage somewhere else in the system. The most common causes are fluid bypassing a check valve in the pump or manifold, or worn seals inside one of the jack cylinders. Those are the components that actually keep the hydraulic pressure locked in place when the jacks are extended.
Are there any fun adventures you are looking most forward to this summer in your RV?
