Brackets to Attach Hideaway Awning to Enclosed Trailer Wall

Updated 05/06/2026 | Published 05/02/2026

Question:

Hello! I have a Hideaway Rackmount awning and I want to install it as a Wallmount on an enclosed trailer. Would the model for a Ford Transit work? If not, do you have a model to suggest?

Hey Stéfan! Yes, you can use the Wall Mount Adapter # TH307999 to mount the HideAway awning on your trailer. However, you’ll want to mount into solid structural support like studs, or add a backing plate inside the wall so the load is properly distributed.

These awnings are quite heavy and can catch wind, so the mounting surface needs to be able to handle that. You don't want a really bad day when the awning rips off the wall because it wasn't properly supported.

Is the enclosed trailer a camper conversion or do you use it for something else?

Yes, I have one installed on the back outside of my 5th wheel. I put a 1x6 on the inside of my camper as a strong backing plate. Then drilled through and used flat head bolts with nuts and washers worked like a champ.
