Inverter For TV, Charge Laptop, Run Coffee Maker In 2022 Keystone Cougar RV With 2 Lithium Batteries

Published 04/21/2026

Question:

I’ve got a 2022 Keystone Cougar with a couple lithium batteries and I mainly want to run my TV, charge laptops, and maybe a coffee maker in the morning. I don’t need to power the whole camper. Would a smaller inverter work or should I jump up to something bigger?

Hey Derek, great question.

For what you described, a 1,000 watt inverter like the Victron Phoenix # VN55ZR 12V or the 24V version # VN44RR is a really clean, simple solution. Both give you pure sine wave power for your electronics and small appliances, so your TV and laptops will run without any issues.

Where it gets tricky is the coffee maker. Most of those pull close to 1,000–1,500 watts, so the # VN55ZR or # VN44RR can handle it since they have a 2,200w peak power rating - but you’ll want to run it by itself and not stack loads at the same time.

If you want a little more breathing room so you’re not thinking about power management as much, stepping up to something like the Victron Quattro II # VN42VR 12V or # VN58ZR 24V gives you 2,400 watts continuous (peak of 5,500w) and a built-in transfer switch. That means more flexibility and easier integration with your RV system.

What voltage and what size battery bank are you running right now? That’ll help dial in how long you can realistically run those loads.
