Question:

I have a customer that is looking for add on air bags for a 2000 E350 Class C RV to help raise it during certain driveway dips. We are looking at installing a system with onboard air compressor. What is your recommended system? Also would it be possible to add a 2" block in the springs as well as the bags. Thanks,

Hey there Raymond, that's a great way to help raise the back end of the van.

I'd go with the air bag kit with internal jounce springs, which will add a little more support even when bags are low - Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88138. You can also add wireless onboard air compressor with this kit - # AL74000EZ.

Now when you say add a 2" block, I'm not too sure what you mean. If you meant some jounce springs, then that wouldn't work since the air bags get installed in that same place. If you wanted to also add the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA22 which are like overload springs where they keep the leaf springs stiff and engaged, that would work well with the air bags. That said, I feel like the Air Lift kit with internal jounce springs will be plenty for that van. I was just throwing this other option out there since you were asking about compatibility with two kits.

If I misunderstood you and you actually meant a 2" lift / level kit, then you would want to add a 2" spacer kit # AL52420 to the air lift kit mentioned above.

What kind of cargo do they have in the back of the Class C?

Thanks for the response, He is just wanting extra height for clearance in certain situations not actually extra load ability. I was thinking of a 2" spacer lift block between the OEM springs and axle. Would the bag spacers work better or would I need to add them to the bags if we add the 2" spacers.

@RaymondS Hmm, sounds like they would be better off with just finding a lift kit honestly. If they have lots of weight actually lowering it down, then the air bag kit above would be ideal. But if they don't have it weighed down a lot and they just want more clearance, a lift kit is the solution, which we don't carry unfortunately.
