Question:
I am trying to figure out a couple of things and I have contacted before but decision has changed. I have a 2006 Ram 3500 Megcab 4x4 with the 5.9L diesel. I need to get the Torklift tie downs steel no aluminum. My truck has a factory 2 hitch right now but I am contemplating the Curt 15809 added as I really need a 2 1/2. I wanted to replace my existing 2 and I believe Reese makes one but nobody seems to have it so I might have to stack the Curt hitch. Now that being said the front Tokrlift camper tie downs dont change no matter what but would the rears if I add the curt hitch to the existing 2 or does it matter?

Hey Hud! The # TLD2102 for the front are the same no matter what. However, the Rear TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs # TLD3109 are only compatible with the OEM hitch. TorkLift does not have rear tie-downs that work with an aftermarket hitch or their own hitch on your Ram 3500.
Even though the Curt sits below the OEM hitch it uses the same mounting points as the tie-downs so they are not compatible. You will have to stick with the OEM hitch if you want to use these for your camper. You will also need turnbuckles like the # TLS9522-2-LK to complete your setup.
What kind of camper do you have?

I have a 2023 Palomino SS-1251. Is there an alternate for the rear then if I use the curt 15809 2 1/2" or do I need to go to a Torklift hitch or do they even make anything for this application? I really need a 2 1/2" receiver hitch so I an use my hitch extender as I also have a boat. I have the Curt 45048 2 1/2" to 2" 34 in extension that I used with my newer trucks (that I don't own anymore) for pulling my boat keeping the ball out from underneath my truck. I am looking for ideas!
