Looking for Forged Ball Mount Solution with 1 inch Diameter Ball Shaft Hole
Updated 03/19/2026 | Published 03/16/2026 >
Question:
I am looking for a forged ball mount hitch like 45340 except that I need the ball shank hole to be 1 inch instead of 1 1/4 inch. Would you have that available?

Hey Ricardo, we don't have any forged ball mounts like what you referenced that have a 1 inch diameter ball opening as that's usually a ball shank diameter that is associated with lighter duty setups and forged ball mounts are usually for heavy duty applications. If you'd be open to also replacing your hitch ball you could use the # C45340 if you'd be open to that?

I use these 17,000 lb. ball mounts on 8 trucks, 3500 and 4500, for trailer towing, totaling 32,000 miles per year per truck. I use the 1-1/4 ball mount because of the rough roads, transferring so much shock to the ball and mount. We replace the balls about every year due to wear and safety. Our experience using this combination has been the way to go.
