Replacement Wet Bolt, 2-1/4" Shackle Strap, and Bushings Kit for a Tandem Axle Trailer

Updated 03/19/2026 | Published 03/12/2026

Question:

I have a 2018 Forest River Heritage Glen Hyper Lite 23RBHL. The bushings are worn out on the spring next to the shackle. It has 3500 Dexter axles. Could you tell me the proper size bolt and bushing?

Hey Maurice, welcome back! Your 2018 Forest River Heritage Glen Hyper Lite 23RBHL should have the standard 9/16" inner diameter and 11/16" outer diameter bushings.

The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers item # MR46ZR you purchased has the same size 9/16" ID and 11/16" OD bushings in it.

Are you also interested in replacing your leaf springs since you're going to have your entire suspension taken apart?

If you are, I would just need you to measure one of your leaf springs from the center to center of the mounting holes with the weight of your trailer off of the springs. I'll also need to know how many leafs your springs currently have.

You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

I purchased the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers a couple months ago. The shackles are at least three times thicker and the greasable bolts not only quiets the suspension but makes it lifetime. Should be greased about every 2500 miles. I reversed the bolts so I could easily get to them from the inside, that is just personal preference. Remember the Bolts that mount to the frame shackle have splines back them up or they will strip out. I also recommend the MORryde equalizer for your wheel base it completes the upgrade. As for the springs just inspect them closely if they are not flat should be fine. Some people carry a spare when traveling especially to Alaska.
