What is the Warranty on the Fogatti Tankless Water Heaters, Do I Need a Professional to Install?

Updated 02/24/2026 | Published 02/20/2026

Question:

I am replacing a Girard 2GWH tankless water heater in my 2015 Lance model 1575 travel trailer. I would like to use an FG76FR. My question concerns the warranty. 1 How long is the Fogatti warranty? 2 If I install the heater myself does this affect the warranty? 3 If the heater would need warranty repair or replacement would I deal with E-trailer or directly with the manufacturer? 4 Can you rate Fogatti for their responses to warranty repairs/replacements?

Hello David,

Thanks for being a loyal etrailer customer for quite some years now, I am glad you finally found the opportunity to write into us.

These are all valid questions and very smart to check first.

For the Fogatti InstaShower 8 Plus RV Tankless Water Heater - 55,000 Btu - 15" x 15" Black Door # FG76FR, the manufacturer warranty is 2 years (24 months), from the date of purchase.

If you install the unit yourself, that does not automatically void the warranty. However, it must be installed exactly according to Fogatti’s written instructions. Improper installation is one of the most common reasons warranty claims are denied. It is very important to follow the manual carefully, keep your proof of purchase, and take clear photos during installation in case they are needed later. I attached our Dealer Locator if you would rather pay a shop to do the install for you.

If the heater needs warranty repair or replacement, you would contact Fogatti directly, as they handle all warranty claims. Their after-sales support number is 877-216-1818. They will issue any required return authorization and determine coverage based on the situation.

It is difficult to fairly rate any company strictly on warranty claims because the outcome often depends on whether the product was installed and maintained properly. Sometimes a claim is denied due to installation errors or lack of documentation, which understandably frustrates the customer. If the unit is installed according to the instructions, properly documented, and maintained correctly, then a true manufacturing defect should be covered under warranty.

I’m not sure what part of the country you’re in, but this is definitely worth mentioning.

Winterizing is extremely important with the Fogatti InstaShower 8 Plus RV Tankless Water Heater # FG76FR. The unit does have an automatic freeze protection feature that can activate when temperatures drop to around 43°F, but this only works if the heater has active 12-volt power and propane connected. It is designed to help protect the unit itself, not the entire RV plumbing system.

For extended cold-weather storage or when temperatures are expected to drop into deep freezing conditions, the entire RV water system, including the water heater, must be properly winterized. This typically involves fully draining the water lines and circulating RV-safe antifreeze through the system to prevent trapped water from freezing.

Failure to properly winterize can lead to freeze damage, and freeze damage is not covered under warranty. Fogatti provides very detailed winterization guidance on their website, I attached an image of this information.

What kind of camper is this going in? And what adventure are you looking most forward to this year?
