My pump is leaking fuel from the top square head plug

Hey James, Sorry you are dealing with that. If fuel is leaking from the top square head plug on your Fill-Rite hand pump, the most common causes are a loose plug or a worn seal underneath it. With the pump fully drained and off the tank, you can try carefully snugging the plug down to make sure it is seated properly. Just do not overtighten it.

If it is still leaking, the O ring or gasket under that plug is likely worn or swollen and will need to be replaced. Fill-Rite offers seal kits for their piston pumps, but that isn't something we offer here.
