Will the Solara 15’ roller bar replace a Dometic 15’ roller bar?

Hello Jean,

That’s a great question, and I completely understand why you’re asking. When you’re mixing brands like Dometic and Solera, the last thing you want is a 15-foot roller bar that almost fits and leaves you stuck with unexpected installation issues right before a trip.

I really wish you could simply swap the Dometic roller tube for a Solera 15' roller bar, but unfortunately they are not compatible. The torsion assemblies and connection points between Solera and Dometic are different, so it would not be a bolt-on replacement.

To give you a true first-try fix, the right part right away, I recommend replacing the complete awning assembly with the Solera XL 12V Power RV Awning, 15' wide with a 9'8" projection, Black Fade # LCV000334950-362243. This way, everything is designed to work together, installation is straightforward, and shipping and setup stay predictable.

What kind of camper is this going on? Do you have any trips in the near future you are looking forward to?

Unfortunately I ordered the solara tube from you to try on the Dometic awning. I haven’t been able to find a 15’ dometic tube.

@JeanK I am very sorry about that Jean, I will get a return label sent over to you so you can return after you receive it. I did a Google search for "15' Dometic awning tube" and a couple of companies popped up that carry them. They are quite a bit more than the Solera one, it might be a good idea to do the full swap now just so it is easier to find the replacement parts in the future.
