Looking For Secure Tongue Lock For 2" Coupler Like Titan 2343400 With Screw-Type Latch

Updated 03/04/2026 | Published 02/02/2026

Question:

I am looking for a secure tongue lock for a 2 coupler. The type of coupler is the one that has a screw type of knob on the top of the tongue to secure the coupler to the ball hitch. A picture of a Titan brand 2343400 illustrates the type of coupler. The coupler is 3 wide with 1.5 of clearance from the front of the coupler to the knob on top.

Hi Darren, thanks for reaching out.

For that screw-top 2" coupler like the Titan 2343400, the Master Lock Trailer Coupler Lock # ML377KA is a solid fit. Since this style of lock slides over the front of the coupler, the screw-type knob on top isn’t an issue at all. Your 3" coupler width and the 1.5" clearance in front of the knob are right in the sweet spot for how this lock installs, so it won’t interfere with operation.

It’s simple to use, doesn’t require fiddling with the latch mechanism, and does a good job of blocking a ball from being inserted, which is really what you want for quick, visible theft deterrence when the trailer is parked.

Where do you usually leave the trailer when it’s unattended, driveway, campsite, or storage lot?

Hey Darren, how did the Master Lock coupler lock work out with your screw-top 2-inch coupler? It sounds like it should clear that top knob nicely. Sharing how it fit could help others with the same Titan-style coupler.
