Hey Bruce, welcome back! The best hitch for your 2006 Jeep Commander, is the Curt item # 13414. This custom fit class III hitch has a 2" receiver and includes all hardware necessary to complete the installation. It has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and a 500 lbs maximum tongue weight so it's going to work great for towing a small to medium sized trailer or hauling a bike rack or cargo carrier.

I really like the Curt Hitch item # 13414 because of how easy it is to install. All you'll need to do is hold the hitch up, insert the four bolts, and tighten them down.

What do you plan on using your new hitch for?

Hey Bruce, how did the Curt hitch work out on your Jeep Commander? Did the fit and towing performance meet your expectations? Your update could make it easier for others choosing a hitch for the same vehicle.
