Hey Loren. The correct Firestone Ride-Rite for your 2WD 2000 Ford Excursion is item # F2255. The Firestone Ride-Rite item # F2251, you referenced only fits the 4WD models.
The Firestone Ride-Rite item # F2255 has a 5,000 lbs capacity that will level out the rear end of your Excursion when you are towing a trailer or hauling a bunch of gear in the back. All mounting brackets are custom fit and the kit includes all the hardware you will need for installation.

I also recommend adding the Firestone Air Command item # F2610 to your SUV. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone.

I purchased these airbags for 2001 4WD Ford Excursion to increase the ride height of the truck while towing a 31ft 1986 Airstream Excella. With the equalizer bars installed, it was too low to the ground at the hitch. Installed the airbags, replaced the truck side hitch with an adjustable one, and now I have been towing a few years with this set up and have not had problems with the airbags keeping the truck and trailer ride height where they need to be. Airbags were relatively easy to install. The air compressor and reservoir we installed but had to chase leaks in the hoses from the air compressor to the reservoir and then to the airbags. They were small leaks the reservoir would take about 3 days to bleed down if I did not start the truck daily. I am very pleased with the system and the airbags are very effective helping me keep the ride height where I want it.
