Hi Ken!

There is a way to carry a bike on your new 2026 Audi A3, but there are currently no hitches available. I was hoping there was one for a 2025 model as there was no design change for the 2026 models, but I came up dry there as well. So with that said, you have two options. A roof rack, or a trunk mounted rack.

Roof Rack: For this option, I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for Naked Roofs - Aluminum - Black - Qty 2 # TH25AG. I think black goes with everything (though we do have silver as well with the # TH75XG) and this gives you plenty of space to work with. From there, you will need a bike rack like the wheel mount Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103 or the frame mount Thule ProRide XT # TH598004. I will admit to preferring the Thule rack as I like how it holds bikes, but really any roof mounted bike rack that fits "aero" style crossbars will fit this roof rack.

Trunk Mount Rack: The first option for this is the Thule OutWay Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Adjustable Arms # TH45JV. This is a fairly standard hanging style trunk mounted rack, but it is a nice option. It includes locks and is pretty easy to use and live with. The other option is the Thule OutWay Platform Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Adjustable Trays # TH65JV. Though this is a trunk mounted rack, it is actually a platform rack as well. This attaches to the frame and wheels to keep everything secure, but I do have to say the bikes will sit up pretty high with it. Both these racks are also only rated for bikes weighing up to 33 pounds.

What kind of bike are you wanting to carry?

Hey Ken, what did you end up going with for your Audi A3—did you try the roof rack or one of the trunk-mounted options? Your experience could point others in the right direction.
