Height Setting For B&W Companion In 2026 Ram 2500

Updated 12/05/2025 | Published 12/04/2025

Question:

I just put the bottom piece of my companion slider in today, wow was that heavy! What height should I adjust the pivot points to for a 2026 2500 ram? Is the 19” height my best option? I don’t want to mess my new truck up!

Hi Ryan!

Glad to hear you got the base installed. It's definitely not easy with how much it weighs, but hey, that's because it's beefy and built to last! ^___^

As to your question, there are a few variables. Believe me, I would like to just tell you how to set it so you can be on your way, but it isn't that cut and dry.

First you will want to level your trailer and measure from the ground to the bottom of the pin box. Once you have that measurement you will want to measure from the ground to the head unit of your # BWRVK3670 and get it as level as possible using either the 17", 18", or 19" height setting.

If you do not have enough adjustment to get your trailer level you will also need to adjust the height of your pin box while trying different height settings on the hitch to find the perfect combination.

Keep in mind you will want to have between 5"-6" clearance between the trailer and the top of the bed rails to avoid any contact. I included a couple diagrams that will help with the process.

Out of curiosity, what kind of 5th wheel are you going to be towing?

@RyanN Cool camper! Looks cozy. ^___^ Was kind of hoping I could find the hitch height, but I wasn't so lucky. It will be a little bit of work, but you will need to go through the steps I have listed above. I'm sure you can get it done in no time though!
