Question:
Hi, I am looking to replace hook and one chain thats rusted on my trailer Wells Cargo 2012 model MC122-7-TE. Would this match the trailer weight rating? Also I have noticed that the chain is welded via loop to the link on the frame. When this is replaced how the connection is made?

Hello Jerry,
Yes, the Buyers Products 3/8" x 22" Class 4 Trailer Safety Chain with Forged Eye Slip Hook # 337B03822SC is strong enough for your 2012 Wells Cargo MC122-7-TE trailer. That trailer has a 7,000 lb GVWR, and the # 337B03822SC chain is rated for a 10,000 lb maximum trailer weight. Using this chain with the one you already have on there will be more than enough!
To install the new chain, have a qualified welder attach a Safety Chain U-Loop for Trailer Hitch # 362ChainLoopU to the trailer frame where the old chain was mounted. The U-Loop is a heavy-duty weld-on bracket made for trailer safety chains. Just make sure you put the loop of the chain on before welding.
Do you use the trailer for work, or for fun?
