Updated 11/19/2025 | Published 11/17/2025

Question:

2015 f250 crew cab long bed 4x4 6.7 powerstroke Firestone ride rite 2703 During install the driver side bag is not square to the axle or frame. I didn’t attempt the passenger side. All brackets were installed per instruction manual! Is this normal? Thank you Jim

Hey Jim, is it possible you need to rotate the air bag 180 degrees? We've seen this before and that was what was wrong.

The guide nipple on top of the air bag is rotated to the front hole!

@JimG would using a different hole allow it to sit more squarely? It's hard to visualize exactly how it all goes together but I do see in step three that you are supposed to use the front hole.

@JamesonC I don’t think the top is the problem, I think the bottom is causing the problem, but I can try rotating the top when I try the install again.

@Jim See if that can help and just check out the brackets and make sure you didn't accidentally install them in the wrong orientation or on the part of the vehicle. It's easy to do and happens more often that you'd think.
