Hello Brent, thanks for reaching out. Yes! The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-224 can absolutely be used for flat towing. You can put the tow bar in the lowermost receiver, then put your bike rack in the uppermost receiver. We actually had a rep from Gen-Y here for a visit a while back and I asked her this specific question about using their ball mounts for flat towing. The answer was an enthusiastic yes lol

Hey Brent, how did things go using the Gen-Y adjustable ball mount with your Blue Ox flat tow setup and bike rack? Your experience could point others in the right direction who want to carry both at once.

@JesseM The setup is perfect. The hitch fits the RockyMount bike rack great and the drop was a great match for my BlueOx tow bar, making almost level when connected to the car. I added a 12-inch BlueOx extension to the tow bar to make sure there was enough room between the bike and car when turning. Also added a couple anti-rattle devices to take up some play in all of the connections. I've got some pictures that I can share.

@Brent Thanks for the update, Brent. Really glad to hear everything came together so well. Sounds like you dialed in the setup perfectly with the drop, extension, and anti-rattle gear. Great call making sure you’ve got that turning clearance, too. I’d definitely love to see those pictures whenever you want to share them! There is no way to add pictures to the comments on here (yet) but you can feel free to email those to me. My email is [email protected]
