Yes, Carla - the Zerostart 50-watt battery blanket # ZE77FR is fully insulated and CSA-certified, so the outer layer stays cool enough for plastic trays. Just make sure it sits flat and the cord exits cleanly. It’s ideal for smaller setups like powersports or car batteries, or some smaller RV batteries (total length is 28").

What are you installing it on, something you use daily or just in winter?

It’s for a small generator we use at the cabin. The tray looks like molded plastic, not metal?

@Carla Perfect, Carla - polypropylene is what most battery trays are made of, and it handles heat really well. The # ZE77FR will be completely safe there. Just keep the pad flat and don’t pinch the cord under the tray edge. You’ll be glad to have it when that generator needs to start in freezing temps.
