Can I use my LockRack kayak security wings with a Malone MegaWing mounted on my Malone MicroSport trailer?

Hello Jim, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can use the LockRack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier # LR54FR with the Malone MicroSport trailer. Assuming your trailer has the square crossbars, you could clamp the LockRack carrier to the crossbars and use it just like you would on a standard roof rack. The LockRack would be used in place of the MegaWing carrier.

Thanks, Jesse. I think that I didn't make my question clear. I already have the LockRack Adjustable Watersport Carrier (LR54R) mounted on my Malone MicroSport Trailer. However, J've been carrying my Hobie Outback on the "mounting bracket or sleeve" of the LockRack carrier. The "arms" of the LockRack are long enough to easily slide into the kayak, over the gunnels. They secure the kayak to the trailer as designed. If I add a MegaWing carrier, will that lift the kayak so high that the arms of the LockRack will no longer go over the kayak gunnels? Thanks, Jim

@Jim Sounds like you are wanting to use both kayak carriers at once? With the Malone stacked on top of the LockRack? Is that right? If so, this is not something I can recommend. These products just are not intended to be used in this way. Since the LockRack’s arms are designed to clamp over the kayak’s gunnels when it’s sitting closer to the bars, that extra height could keep the arms from reaching far enough to lock down properly. If the current setup is working well with the LockRack mounted directly to the crossbars, I’d recommend sticking with that configuration.
