If Removing Axle from Triple Axle Setup Should it Be Rear or Center

Question:
I have a triple 10,000lb axle trailer gooseneck trailer. Would it be better to remove the center, or the rear axle? Thanks.

Hey Larry, that really comes down to what you prefer. Removing the center axle will distribute the weight onto the axles and less on the gooseneck but the tires will scrub a lot more when you make tighter turns. If you remove the rear axle you'd have more weight on the gooseneck hitch ball but you'd have an easier time turning and the tires wouldn't scrub quite as much.
I'd probably go with removing the rear as having a large distance between two axles would be basically impossible to come up with a suspension system that uses an equalizer.
