Can Xtreme RV Basement and Boat Bilge Heater Be Installed Upside Down Or Sideways In Compartment?

Question:
Can I mount the XH67FR upside down under the battery tray in my camper’s compartment?

Absolutely, Chera. One of the nice design features of these Xtreme heaters like 400w # XH67FR is that they can be mounted in any orientation - sideways, upside down, or flat - and the forced-air fan still circulates heat effectively. Just be sure the thermostat on the back has access to the same air it’s heating, so it knows when to cycle off at 55°F. I’d avoid putting it too close to battery chargers or in a spot where it could get splashed.
Are you trying to protect just your batteries, or plumbing lines too?

I actually have mine mounted upside down under the batteries in my fifth wheel and it’s worked great the past two winters. The only thing I did was add a small drip shield above it just in case of condensation.
