Question:
Does the warning triangle in the PT60220 meet DOT standards for highway use?
asked by: Brian
Expert Reply:
Brian, the triangle included in the Performance Tool Roadside Emergency Kit # PT60220 is highly reflective and works great for alerting traffic, but it’s not a certified DOT triangle like what truckers carry. For passenger vehicles it’s perfectly fine, but if you’re looking for DOT-approved roadside triangles, we do carry those separately such as # RN461.
Do you plan to keep this kit in a personal car, or in a commercial truck where DOT compliance matters?
