Does Prodigy P3 Brake Controller Have to be Powered Off

Question:
when plugged in P3 unit to 2007 Dakota seems to work perfectly but wont turn off when key is turned off.Thanks for your help.

Hey Richard, the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 will not power off but after several minutes it will go into a sleep mode where it won't drain the battery. The reason you want it to stay powered "on" all the time is so that you don't lose any settings. If you cut power to it the settings would all be lost.
