I’ve got a Big Tex equipment hauler with a cast 2-5/16inch Bulldog coupler. Will the AL38DQ fit?

Greg, the # AL38DQ was designed for cast couplers just like yours. Bulldog and Buyers cast styles can be tricky to secure with universal locks, but the ICON hugs them tight. Since your trailer hauls heavy equipment, you’ll appreciate that this thing is made from a single piece of cast steel - hit it with a sledgehammer, you might knock a chip off, but it’s not coming off the trailer.
