Info Needed to Pick Out Replacement Suspension for Boat Trailer

Updated 08/27/2025 | Published 08/25/2025

Question:

I have a tandem axel trailer that I know is not built for the boat I have on it. It is a 2000 regal 2150 LSC. The entire suspension needs to be replaced leaf springs and the shackle with all hardware. Can you link me to a kit or connection if items that would be best for my configuration?

Hey Noah, could I get you to get me the length of your current leaf springs but more importantly the axle capacity of the trailer? With that we can determine what parts you'd need. Worth mentioning is that if you are exceeding the weight capacity of the trailer there's really nothing that can be done that can increase it's capacity. The overall capacity is based on several factors like suspension, axle capacity, frame capacity, brakes, coupler capacity, frame design etc.

@NoahW Jack up the trailer frame so that there's no load on the trailer suspension and then get me the length of the spring from bolt center to bolt center. On the axle tag there will be a sticker that has the capacity listed but if that's not there it can also be determined by the diameter of it.

@JamesonC alright I'll get back with that information once I get the trailer and boat back from shop retrofitting the boat bunks
