Can I Install Toggle Switch So Reverse Sensors Don't Activate When Reversing With A Trailer?

Question:
I pull a utility trailer often, usually every week. can I still use these for the rear of my truck, or will the trailer set them off constantly?

Mark, the rear bumper sensors in the BrandMotion front/rear parking sensor kit # BM28YR will definitely “see” your trailer and alert every time you put the truck in reverse. In order to disable the system when reversing with a trailer hooked up, you'd need to wire an on/off toggle switch into the green wire that goes from the ecu to the reverse light circuit on your vehicle. This means you can flip it off when reversing and it won't turn the sensors on since the ECU won't receive the reverse signal.
You'd need to run quite a bit of wire up to the dash in order to do this though.
Does this sound like something you want to tackle? If so, I can provide more assistance with a wiring mockup if need be.
