Can K-Source Custom Flip Out Towing Mirrors Be Wired To An Aftermarket Switch To Operate The Fold In

Question:
I have a 2015 Ram 1500. My truck does not have the power folding option. Is it possible to hard wire these mirrors to an aftermarket switch to operate the fold in motors? I dont want to pay the dealer to load in the sales codes for the power fold option.

Hello Pete, thanks for reaching out. The K-Source Custom Flip Out Towing Mirrors # KS60199-00C are designed to plug into the OEM mirror plug. There might be a way to cut off the plug and hardwire the mirror to a switch, but since this is a custom fit product this is not something we have ever or will ever test. Typically I do not recommend modifying a brand-new product like this since there is no guarantee it will work and any modifications would void your warranty.
