How Is The GE Profile Propane RV Range GE37VR Powered?

Updated 08/14/2025 | Published 07/31/2025

Question:

My 2024 Solitude has an Insignia range and parts are impossible to find for it. I am looking at the GE Profile GE37VR as a replacement but I will need a 120VAC to 12VDC converter. Do you have a unit I can plug into 120VAC and wire the output directly to the stove?

Hello Tim, thanks for reaching out. I am not quite sure what you are looking for here. The GE Profile Propane RV Range # GE37VR runs off 12VDC power. The power supply connection on the back of the oven is wired to a 12v power supply. Assuming your camper is equipped with a converter and power center, that would be sufficient to get power to the oven. You would not need to convert 120v to 12v since your RV converter would already be providing 12vdc.

Jesse, My Solitude has an AC outlet behind the Insignia range and the range plugs into that outlet. Since the GE Profile range uses DC voltage, I thought I could use a 12VDC power supply that plugged into that outlet behind the stove. After watching Andy’s video on the GE Profile range, how did he get electric to the stove? Regards Tim

@TimE I talked to Andy and in that video he had the range hooked up to a 12v power box using alligator clips. The 12 power box just plugs into a wall outlet. We do not offer any kind of adapter for this so if you plan to use a 12v range you would need to wire it directly to 12v power per the instructions.
