Looking for Replacement Brake Shoes

Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 07/14/2025

Question:

Hi, I am struggling to find out what brake shoes are used with a homemade boat trailer I purchased. I have been to 3 local shops and none of them had seen one like this before. Can you look at the photo and tell me what this is, or if there is a replacement taht would work? Best Regards, Mathias

It's hard to ID brake shoes with just a picture. Was there a part number on the brake assemblies or a brand name possibly? It's a lot easier to just replace the entire brake assemblies plus sometimes it costs the same so that's a route you might have to go. Plus it gives you all new components. I would need to know your axle capacity for that.

Hey Mathias, Did you manage to find the right brake shoes for your homemade boat trailer, or did you decide to replace the entire brake assemblies? I'm curious because it might help others in a similar situation.
