Where to Hook Front Strap for Kayak Carrier
Updated 07/09/2025 | Published 07/03/2025 >
Question:
Looking for a way to secure bow tie down on 2025 Kia EV6 AWD long light. No room under the bonnet for tube and tie, no ridges for Yakima hood anchor to grab. I have an inquiry to service dept re Thule bolt on. The best 2 spots look like they are connected to something I shouldnt mess with! Any ideas?

We haven't had specific experience with that vehicle but if you were to go over the front of the vehicle and then back under the front bumper is there maybe something there that could be hooked onto? Maybe even just the edge of the bumper?

I figured out a way! I ran the bow line through the bracket in the center where the bonnet latch grabs hold when closed. Made a loop about 12" long using a bowline knot. Slid line to the very top/back so the latch wouldn't touch the line when the bonnet was closed and when line was under tension. This will only work with a thin rope style line. A strap would be too bulky.
