Replacement AC Units for a Dual Zone Coleman-Mach AC System

Updated 07/07/2025 | Published 06/30/2025

Question:

Hello! I have a 1998 Fleetwood Southwind 35s that I believe is due for one, maybe two AC replacements. I’m needing to weigh out my options. The original equipment is the following model numbers: Rear: 7632B8964, Front: 7633B8766 Thank you!

Hey Logan, thanks for the information. The best option to replace a pair of discontinued Coleman-Mach AC's is with the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR84FJ 15,000 Btu or item # FR77FJ for a 13,500 btu system.

The Furrion Chill air conditioner system lets you independently adjust the temperature of two zones within your RV. It is compatible with ducted and ductless systems. These kits include two ACs, two air distribution boxes, two multi zone controllers, and a multi zone wall thermostat.

Are you the original owner of your RV and are those the original AC units?

Hi Jerred - I am not the original owner of my Southwind, but these are the original units. My camper is a 30amp camper with an intellitec (now, waiterECC) voltage management system, so I think I'll need to stick with similar/same BTU sizes/AMP consumption as what I have now. Does this help?

@LoganS Thanks for the information. The 15,000 Btu item # FR84FJ pulls 15.4 amps and the 13,500 Btu item # FR77FJ pulls 11.2 amps each while running. I wasn't able to see how many btu's your current AC units are. Are yours dual zone and controlled by the same thermostat?

@JerredH yes, one zone is the rear bedroom/hallway, the other zone is kitchen forward. they are both currently controlled by a shared thermostat with two temperature setting options on it. all of them are tied into the voltage management system i referenced above. Instead of looking at a pair, do you have a way to cross reference a direct replacement for each unit individually? preferably a plug and play kit?

@LoganS There aren't any plug and play units available that are going to be compatible with systems and components that old. If you replace the AC systems individually you'll have to control them that way. Would that be an option you're interested in?
