Replacement Wishbone 4-Way Wiring Connector for a Pontoon Trailer

Updated 06/20/2025 | Published 06/12/2025

Question:

I need to replace the plug connector on my pontoon trailer. The trailer has only 3 wires yellow+brown, green+brown and white. Does trailer offer a 4 pin plug that attaches to 3 wires I believe my setup is called a wishbone configuration..?

Hey Dave, thanks for reaching out!

You do have a wishbone wiring setup, so what you need for a replacement is the Wesbar Wishbone Wiring Harness # 002402. You'll just connect the wires per color and I recommend doing so with the Butt Connector Kit # DW05744-5.

Did the connector break down over time, or did it get damaged at some point?

Just to be clear, you want me to separate the (2) brown wires from the green (1) and yellow (1)? It’s so odd that there isn’t a plug that has 3 wires to connect to, but I guess it is what it is. Thanks for your help - I appreciate it.

@Dave Yup! It actually looks like they should be separate wires (from your picture), they just have them stuck together so they're easier to run along the trailer frame.

@David Yes, you'll want to separate those wires out. The brown parts of the wires you're looking at are actually separate wires, and you'll run them to the same pin on your 4-Way for the running light function.
