Why Would Brown Wire On 7-Way Always Be Hot?

On my 7 way plug brown is always on, even when headlight switch is off?

Hello Emo, thanks for reaching out. One a standard 7-way the brown wire should only be hot when the headlights are on. If yours is always on it is either wired incorrectly, or there is a short somewhere that is allowing power to that pin when there shouldn't be. I recommend double checking your connections and visually inspecting your wiring for any damaged wire or shorts. Shorts can be hard to diagnose sometimes so in these cases it is best to take your vehicle to a shop.
