Question:

Interested in upgrading my F-350 SuperDuty 8 bed to have the underbed puck system and the BandW 5th wheel hitch. BandW Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000 lbs Part Number: BWRVK3305. Ford website does not sell their Gooseneck Prep Package to Arizona residents. Super Duty 2012-2016 5th Wheel Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package SKU: BC3Z5F057A Do you have a compatible underbed puck system that I can install on my truck?

Hey Jerry! Don't worry, here at etrailer we don't pick on people from Arizona. What you need is the Reese Elite Series Under-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty # RP30138-26. This is designed to fit your 2015 Ford F-350 and matches the OEM prep package. It will allow you to install the B&W Companion # BWRVK3305 so you can get out there with your 5th wheel this summer.

While this information indicates that these two products are compatible, during my live chat with an Etrailer representative a couple weeks ago, I was told they were not. Part Number: BWRVK3305, B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch specifically states it is for the Ford Super Duty Prep Package, a proprietary product of the Ford company. Ford has their underbed hitch, BC3Z5F057A, but it is currently out of stock. And in that live chat, I was told that while the RP30138-26 Reese underbed gooseneck would fit my truck, it would NOT accept the B&W hitch referenced here. So, I am confused. This product question counters the information the Etrailer chat agent gave me. What are, if any, the differences in the design and anchor point placements of the Reese and the Ford OEM underbed assemblies?

@Jerry it is effectively the same thing as the Ford BC3Z5F057A. This will work with the B&W as well as any other 5th wheel hitch designed to fit the Ford OEM prep package. The spacing and mounting points are identical. We have answer pages all over our site that also state this. Who did you talk to in our live chat?

@RobinH Do not recall, and unfortunately did not save the chat. Once I saw their answer, and it didn't fit my needs, I made other arrangements to get the items that I needed.
