Looking For Replacement For 1315-200 Battery Separator On 2008 Sportsmobile Van

Updated 09/15/2025 | Published 05/24/2025

Question:

I have a 2008 Sportsmobile and the house batteries are no longer charging while I drive. It has a Sun Power battery separator model 1315-200. I read online that these can go bad after 5-7 years, so I am thinking this is my problem. Do you have something that would replace it or any suggestions? Thank you for your time. p.s. I hear about you through Wild RV Life youtube videos.

Hey Kent, thanks for reaching out. We do have a suitable replacement for the Sun Power battery separator model 1315-200. For that I recommend the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator # 331-SBI212D. The dual sensing is the equivalent to the bidirectional functionality on your 1315-200. This will allow you to transfer charge from either your start battery or your auxiliary battery to keep both batteries in your setup charged.

I have seen a few of the Wild RV Life youtube videos, but I will have to check out more now :)

Hit the reply button below and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Hey Kent, did the Redarc Smart Start Battery Isolator work out for your Sportsmobile? I'm curious to know because it could help others with similar battery issues.

Hi Jesse I actually went didn’t go with the redarc, but I do.think it would have worked fine. My problem turned out to be a wiring issue. Kent
