Question:

I have a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.6bed. 4wd crew cab. My truck does not have a puck system. What is everything I need to a Cedar Creek 5th wheel with a Rhino hitch. I will need at least a 16k lb hitch.

Hello John, thanks for reaching out. Since your bed is shorter that 8' we do recommend using a sliding 5th wheel hitch for extra clearance on tight turns. So for your 2020 Chevy 2500 I recommend the following:

This comes with everything you need to install and use the hitch. You get your in-bed rails and install kit, as well as the 18K Patriot slider hitch. The B&W hitches are super solid. They are known for being durable and user friendly.

This will work even though I don't have pucks installed on my truck. Yes I understand I will have to drill my own.

@John Yes, it will work on truck without the factory pucks. You will be installing the industry standard 5th wheel rails in the bed. That is what the hitch attaches to

Hey Jesse, is there an Andersen Hitch that is available for my truck? I was told they are lightweight aluminum.

@John Yes they are very lightweight! Our solution for that would use the Andersen Aluminum Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection 2 Gooseneck version # 3220. This installs to a standard gooseneck ball, so you would just need to install a gooseneck hitch like the Curt # C65HR and you would be good to go. The Andersen Aluminum Ultimate hitch weighs only 40 lbs.

Does the BW67XR come with the underbed installation kit too? As I don't have the puck system on my truck.

@John Yes, the # BW67XR comes with the full underbed installation kit, all hardware, and the hitch itself.

@JesseM also I like the Pacbrake air supports but it says it won't work with aftermarket underbed kits. Is there one I'm missing or does another company make something similar?

@John You are correct about the Pacbrake air bags, they would obstruct most underbed kits. For an air bag kit, you will want to go with the Firestone Ride Rite # F2613. They will be compatible with underbed 5th wheel of gooseneck kits like the # BW67XR.
